Excerpt from the preface:
This is a book on close-up magic. The effects described in this book are not only mystifying but vastly entertaining. I know they are practical and popular, because I do them all the time, and I love them. Some of the effects in this book were originally published in different magic magazines like Magigram, Mantra etc. While re-writing them for this book, I have updated the effect, handling and presentation, based on my experience of performing them several times, to make them more interesting and entertaining. Even readers who may have read the original versions will find something...
This ebook features a variety of strong and easy to perform tricks. Of course, as the author of Modern Coin Magic Bobo includes a solid section on coin tricks, but he also teaches routines with cards, thimbles, rope, and there is also a detailed section on sleeving. Bobo was a master of it.
This offering represents a small part of my passionate journey to document just how much entertaining magic can be created with two paper sacks, a bottle of water, and a paper cup. I would feel badly having simple ideas like this one get lost over time under a growing pile of more expensive gimmicks, books, and DVD's. In furtherance of this quest of mine, please also visit my new monthly column Craft Store Magic in The Linking Ring magazine where I document ideas for turning your local craft store into your very own local brick and mortar magic store.

Excerpt from the Introduction:
Some people perform magic and some people are magic, but very few possess both of these qualities. I believe that the contributors to this book are genuine exceptions. It was Derek Lever who suggested to me that I should write this book. At first I was a little apprehensive about approaching my friends as I didn't want to feel that I was exploiting their status. I really shouldn't have worried as all the people featured in this book were more than happy to oblige - they have all been very generous in contributing some of their best material.
The title says it all. A must-have for any Wayne Dobson fan. Lots of effects are explained, lots of anecdotes are told, and lots of photos are shown.
This eBook contains virtually every magic effect Wayne published up to 2011, and all have the hallmarks of Wayne's creative thinking. The methods are always simple and direct, and included amongst the selection of around 100 effects are some of the tricks that helped to establish Wayne as one of the top stage, cabaret, and TV magicians.
Much of the magic is suitable for close-up performance too, and the required props are either everyday...
Wayne Dobson has had a life full of incredible highs and hard-to-bear lows, and in this candidly written ebook, he lays it all before you. The full story is here charting his meteoric rise to international fame and TV stardom in which, when he was at the height of his powers, he became a household name in the UK and was seen as a genuine alternative to Paul Daniels as a mainstream TV magician, right through to his valiant and uncomplaining struggle with MS. It's a tale of courage, is often very funny, and it is always fascinating.
As well as Wayne's life story this excellent ebook provides...
From the Foreword:
Magic is changing and a lot of the reason for this is that people's attention spans are shorter because of the pace of life today and more distractions.
We don't have the luxury of people dying for entertainment. There is too much entertainment and to compete, we have to get to the point quicker.
If you look at my magic a certain way, it is a direct result of chipping away at long tricks trying to distill them down.
The format follows Gregg's established style of illustrations and hand-lettered text.
Montague was a member of the Hous of Commons and a hobby magician, which lead to his nickname "Conjurer of the House of Commons." Most of the tricks described here are of his invention.
From the introduction by Will Goldston:
All the tricks explained in the book are thoroughly practical; that I should know if I had not seen the written explanations of the secrets, because all the tricks described in this book have been performed by the author at the Magicians’ Club. That being the case, I strongly recommend the reader to study the book thoroughly and thus add some of the tricks to his repertoire;...

From the introduction:
The ideal way of learning magic is, it almost goes without saying, to obtain lessons from a magician who is not only a skilful performer but who has also the gift of teaching. The number of such magicians is small. Skilful performers there are in plenty; but the gift of teaching is a rare one. Many a man knows his subject thoroughly, yet cannot impart his knowledge to others.
This ideal way is therefore a difficult one. The learner has first to find an efficient instructor. He may be able to do so if he lives in or near one of the great cities. But if not he will...
These are all effects which use wipe-off or white-board pens. Terri Rogers uses the Velleda brand, but there are others you can use. She also uses two types of Velleda films, one white and the other transparent.
[30 years after this booklet has been published we have a lot more pens available. While not wipe-off pens some of these effects can be adopted to the popular Frixion pens which can be erased by heat.]

From the foreword:
Watches have always played a certain part in Magic, but the watch was usually a borrowed one. The excellent "prop" watches now on the market, manufactured of course exclusively for conjuring purposes, open up almost a new era in watch magic.
Having acquired some of these, I endeavoured to work out some effects therewith, and thinking that some of my ideas may be of service to my fellow magicians, I have put them into print. With the exception of those described under "Some Suggestions" all the effects have been actually worked, and the various stands described are easily...
These effects on this double-download-DVD are for serious finger-flingers. Intimately detailed instruction is unsurpassed. Every effect on this DVD features some original moves and thinking, addressing classic effects:

Cards and Coins - a magician fooler. This routine accomplishes the same effect - with a backfire, using all new moves. Steve wanted...
This work covers a lot of ground, from various parlor tricks, chemical tricks, card tricks, to a section on two person codes, and a section on artifices of cardsharks.
With this tool, you are able to gently float small objects such as matches, feathers, playing cards, sponge balls or rubber bands, etc. a few centimeters above the table.
Easy to build. Not for live performances! Use the gimmick for Zoom, Instagram, or similar. Also very suitable for demo videos to let business cards gently lift off the table. Don't use it as a magic trick. Rather as a science experiment.
1st edition 2023, video 23 min.
A mix of cards, mentalism, and quite unusual manipulation with glasses and thimbles.

Here are not one, but two, fully routined magic acts that are commercial and different. They work equally well for the one- or two-person show. Each of the routines is a complete unit, with effects that lead up to a definite climax. Patter, music cues, stage movements and rehearsal suggestions are included. You also get standalone effects, new wrinkles for established effects, and additional patter and bits of business to add to your show.
