A choice collection of smart close-up and pocket tricks of the type for which Dr. Ervin was famous. Originally sold as four separate booklets, these have now been combined into a single, greatly enlarged volume, edited by Ralph W. Read and fully illustrated.
Contains tricks with bills, coins, cigarettes, tobacco, matches, silks, needles, playing cards, ropes, mind reading, livestock, and more. Comedy, straight magic, even a few stunts that will play well as bar betchas. There's plenty of variety to capture and keep any audience's attention.

Excerpt from the introduction by Nevil Maskelyne:
The articles contained in this book have been written by good friends of mine. With some of them I have had the privilege of working, both in public and as officers of the Magic Circle. All of them are men well qualified to deal with the subjects they respectively discuss. Not only so, they have the faculty, sometimes lacking in writers upon magical subjects, of making their literature interesting. It is not too much to say of some magical works that they are deadly dull to read. No such reproach can be brought against this series of articles. The ideas...
Excerpt from the introduction:
Remember, I beg of you, as you read this book, that one man’s meat is another man’s poison, and have hope within you, that you may discover herein the very item your frousty programme lacks. Believe me, the age of miracles has not ceased.
And you, critics, reviewers and turnip-munchers, bestir your jaded parrots in praise of this book, but whether you boom it or burst it, consider also this: that all the secret subtleties, the cute little, quaint little moves, the tricks of affectation and of style, all the glory and delight of accidental discovery,...
Excerpt from the introduction:
No, my ever so constant and indefatigable readers, this book contains no marvels, but merely the practical effects of men who conjure, men who think and men who achieve, in contradistinction to the dreamers who dream.
I said just now that there was nothing startling in this book; but there is some very good Magic. The "Snowman" takes my fancy. True, it makes use of plaguey and never-sufficiently-damned tubes. The peculiar stringing of a pack of cards which you will find on page - (How can I tell on which page it will eventually appear!) is alone worth the...
This is an updated best of selection of TC's re-Think series. Effects included:

For over a decade, Steve Pellegrino has created strong magic and mentalism routines that have been released to the market. Professional magicians and mentalists have added many of those routines to their repertoires. Until now, these manuscripts have been unavailable anywhere.
Collected Secrets is a 455-page collection that combines Steve's previously released manuscripts into one large volume. It features 36 effects, including 5 previously unreleased routines.
Divided into three chapters, Cards, Mentalism & General Magic, here is what is included:
Ravi has a real knack for making use of normal, everyday objects as part of his repetoire. His tricks are highly visual, easy to do and they get great reactions in the real world. It won't take you an age to competently perform Ravi's effects - invest a short time to practice and then you can deliver accomplished results without any complicated sleight of hand or unnecessary, complex routining. In short, you'll be amazing people before you know it!
'Real Counterfeit Money' is a terrific money change effect and 'Corner Light' is a spectacularly devious little number - leaving part of a spectator's...
Ring
A ten phase, powerhouse visual routine, done with just one ring. Each phase is modular leaving you the opportunity to do each phase, one phase or mix them up.
Damn Gum
Remove a piece of gum stuck to the bottom of your shoe. Simply change it into the inner wrap of the gum package; change it again into a full, store bought pack of gum. Take out a piece of gum, eat it or give the piece to your spectator.
S.C.T.B (Signed Coin Thru Bill)
Borrow a bill, borrow a coin. Have the spectator sign the coin. Fold the bill in half and place the coin inside the bill. Crimp the coin inside...
Rachel and Aldo used to go on big lecture tours frequently. In 2011 they gave their final 'Farewell Tour'. With farewell they only mean farewell to big lecture tours, not farewell to magic. Rachel and Aldo will continue to be very active in magic, produce new DVDs and I am sure we will still see them now and then at conventions and other magic happenings. If you have not been able to see their farewell lecture then here is your chance to acquire a very special ebook.
Here in their own words:
After careful thought and deliberation, Rachel and I have decided that this will be our final lecture...
These are the lectures notes for a lecture Aldo gave at FISM.
Tip Top: the magician displays several cards bearing pictures of clowns, having different colored noses. A spectator selects a clown and the performer is seen to have the same colored clown nose... on his nose!
Poppy: a knot, tied in the middle of a piece of white rope, slides to one end, then the other; then change color. The different colored knot slides along the rope several times; the knot is then untied and seen to actually be a two inch section of the white rope.
Hit: method to tie two quick slip knots, one with each...
This is the first half of the live lecture performed by Aldo and Rachel Colombini in 2011 on their Farewell Tour. It is one of the last filmed lectures of Aldo and is a great tribute to his artistry and memory and a wonderful keepsake.
Here you can go to Part 2. And here you can get the lecture notes covering Part 1 and 2.

A very easy, commercial and entertaining color changing knife routine in several phases. With ideas by Ken Brooke, Ascanio and Juan Tamariz. For close-up and walk around. A white knife (or any color) changes to black. You simply say that you are using TWO knives so you produce a white one. The two knives change places a few times and at the end everything can be examined (obviously you have to bring your own knives)!
A very visual effect that is very easy to perform. You take out a red Sharpie and change it to a black Sharpie with a simple flick of your hand. This is so easy to do and a great off beat effect whenever you need a card signed.
Recorded live at the Convention at the Capital 1999.

3 professional performance pieces direct from Mel's repertoire.
1: Spin a yarn a commercial presentation hook for the classic 'Gypsy thread' (performed with wool/yarn) with a great comedy spiel. Includes sample script and gags.
2: Around the world with a pack of cards. An offbeat and entertaining way to present the 'Six card repeat', enhancing the repetitive structure of the effect.
3: Totally scattered. Is a real fooler that plays big. A shuffled deck of cards is given to the spectator and they cut and note a card they then shuffle the cards again and scatter them. Under these impossible...
Three more performance pieces designed with maximum entertainment in mind. Each effect includes sample scripts, handling's, and the all important presentational hooks with the emphasize on comedy.
POCKET POWER
Cards are shown portraying various items a person may have in their pockets such as, keys, pills, spectacles, etc. The performer invites the spectator to place various cards in their pocket (doesn't have to be pocket). Using x-ray vision (can place some x-ray specs on) the magician correctly identifies the items and the pockets.

The Confusing Crayons is a well known classic. Two crayons and two cylinders are introduced. A volunteer gets one cylinder and selects a crayon. The magician takes the other cylinder and crayon. Instructing the volunteer to follow along the cylinders are turned over, back again and then over. The magicians crayon is right side up and the volunteers pointing down. This is a class that, up to this point, requires the use of a volunteer.
Confusing Crayons, 1 Person Routine is done without the need for a volunteer. Communication takes place with the magician's audience interaction. The audience...
