Healing Portal
Andrew Loh
This is an impromptu ripped and restored signed card effect. This is a flash restoration and the restored signed card can be immediately given out as a souvenir and you end clean.
In this version, there is no extra card required, palming, etc. The restoration is very visual. The deck can be examined before and after the routine! Best of all, the spectator has a total free choice of the selection and no special setup of the deck. You end clean!
I was really pleased to read your excellent effect. I liked the effect of the tear disappearing. - Peter Duffie
I liked your handling of Healing Portal...
Heading North
David Regal
This is a very effective and very easy card rise developed by David Regal. Any card is selected and shuffled into the deck. The selection now inexplicably rises out of the deck. New method, easy to do.
No threads, rubber bands, magnets or other contraptions. The gimmick is simple and right there invisible in the deck. Spectators can stare right at it and not see it. Very clever and very practical.
Recorded live at the Convention at the Capital 2001.
runtime: 3min 57s
Headbangerz
Liam Montier & Darren McQuade
Nine commercial tricks from Liam and Darren. Visibly cheat at pool and pot every ball simultaneously. Reveal a selection inside a keyring that the spectator can keep. Immediately change four cards into another with no moves. Predict a freely chosen ace, again and again. Use a drawn 8ball to visually reveal a spectator's card. Add new kickers and presentations to your card to wallet. Do a killer 'Kick Back' style transposition with any deck. Finally reveal a spectator's birthday card, and then the actual date.

Haunted Card Game
Biagio Fasano
A card game between four players, in which the magician seems to have no control, unless he manages to use magic to enchant the cards of each of the players.
This is a completely improvised card trick that the illusionist performs by randomly choosing three spectators and giving them a common deck of cards (even borrowed) that they can freely shuffle, before dealing a hand of cards (five apiece) to each of them.
The magician will show that, after everyone has looked at their cards, they must choose and remember the highest value card, placing it on top of their deck, keeping all cards...
Haunted Card
Mario Tarasini
Do you believe in spirits? This trick will make you believe it. The chosen spectator's card begins to move magically, and rotates itself out of a ribbon spread.
- You control the movement of the card
- No funny movement
- No "loops"
- No "IT"
length 7min 5s.
Hash-Town-Ding
Stephen Tucker
Someone shuffles an examined blue backed deck (which also contains four red backers). You take it back and, in seconds, produce the four aces. However, this production results in laughter from your audience, not stunned amazement.
You next explain that you are thinking of a word, and ask them to try and read your mind. They say that they think your word is SOAP. You act astonished and say that it was. You then remove the four red backed cards, seen earlier, and a letter has appeared on the back of each of them. The four letters are S, O, A and P!
The deck can now be examined. Hash-Town-Ding...

Hanging On
Simon J. Lea
A spectator is given a new deck of cards and some clothes pegs. Tearing off the cellophane they open the deck and begin to peg cards onto a washing line. When they run out of pegs, they shuffle the deck and pick one card at random. This card helps them randomly choose one of the pegged cards.
Imagine there are 9 cards pegged to the line and they choose the 4 of diamonds - they would then count along the pegged cards stopping at the fourth card. This card is turned around and re-pegged so that the audience can see what it is.
A prediction is opened revealing the name of selected card. ...
Hands Hof!
Kyle MacNeill
From creative magician Kyle MacNeill comes a completely hands off Hofzinser Ace trick, and much, much more!
From the Introduction:
One thing that I am usually missing in my effects is commerciality, and hence I wanted to try to create a routine that was simple, easy, straight – to the point, and generated pleasing reactions.
One plot that I have always loved is the 'Hofzinser Ace Problem'. I have played with it countless times, using a play on words in ‘Hoffee Chew’ (American Dream, 2010), and in ‘Hoffee Beans’ (Zany, 2010). However, I recently have wished to create a Hofzinser...

Hammer Smashed Aces
David Devlin
This effect has nothing to do with hammers or smashing things. It does have to do with the aces, however. The title came about because David was listening to Cannibal Corpse while He was playing around with this routine, and the song that was on was, "Hammer Smashed Face". That is enough about the weird title.
Here is the effect (and what an effect!):
The four aces (or four selections) are signed and placed aside. A fifth unknown card is selected and placed face down between two jokers, which are then placed into the card box. The aces are then shown once again, and are then cleanly shuffled...
Hammanesque: Hot Ice 2
Ken de Courcy
In one of the New York Magic Symposium volumes there is a trick by Brother John Hamman entitled "The Lie-Detector Card Case". In it, he describes a truly brilliant-in-its-simplicity method for discovering a merely-thought-of card. Here is an alternative ending to it which, for me, makes it easier for larger audiences to see.
EFFECT
A spectator shuffles a pack of cards, then merely thinks of a card as the performer counts some over before his eyes. The cards are shuffled, then the performer shows the cards at the top and bottom of the pack; the selected card is not among them. Next, he introduces two paper...

Hallucination
Andrew Loh
Hallucination is Andrew's first packet trick that is very easy to do and highly entertaining.
Basically, this effect involves four Queens and you magically cause any two Queens to penetrate with the other two Queens visually.
At the end, you cause all the Queens to vanish magically leaving the blank cards on the table!
There is no slit or any special cut-out card at all in this effect.
This ebook is not suitable for beginners. While all the moves are explained clearly some previous card handling experience is preferable.

Hallucination
Sultan Orazaly
Visual and practical effects are rarely combined into one trick. Hallucination is a very practical and visual trick. Imagine you draw 4 points on a playing card, after which you shake the deck and they line up, and that’s not all, you shake the deck again and the points completely disappear.

Hahaha
Peter Pellikaan
The performer shows four cards, two with regular backs and the other two with a square printed on the back. Suddenly, one card that had a square printed on its back now has a big round hole cut from its center. A moment later, two cards have a big round hole cut from their centers.

Gyrater: Floating and Spinning Deck
Devin Knight
The performer has a card selected, no force, and returned to the deck. The deck is shuffled and 7 or 8 cards are dealt face down into an arc shape. The performer introduces his card case and says this is his pet, CASEY. Casey is well trained and can find selected cards. That is because he is a pointer. (Pun Intended.) The performer holds the card case above his hand and says, "Casey stay." The card case remains suspended in the air. The performer says, "Chase your tail." The deck revolves 360 degrees in the air. Performer says, "Play dead," the card case drops into his hand.

Gun Card Location
Miku W.
A completely impromptu card routine.
The magician takes out the Ace of Spades, framing it as a bullet, then assembles the deck into the shape of a gun. The spectator freely inserts the Ace of Spades anywhere in the "gun," representing the bullet being loaded into the chamber.
The magician then has the spectator freely cut the deck and remember a card. Finally, the deck is reassembled into the gun and bullet. The spectator's selection shoots out of the deck like a fired bullet.

Guilty as Sin Aces
David Devlin
This is a great opener for any routine or act, which uses the four aces. The inspiration for this came from David Regal's "Deep Guilt Aces".
Before you chalk this up to "another ace cutting trick", take a look at the features:
- No rough/smooth.
- No short cards. No long cards. No thick cards.
- No memorization.
- No sleight-of-hand.
- No "messing with the deck" after each cut. When the spectator cuts the cards, neatness doesn't count. You never miss.
- Totally self-working!

Grippo's Favorite
Brick Tilley
When Jimmy Grippo saw this in 1974, he realized its merits and immediately added it to his repertoire. It requires no turnovers or other distracting actions, but is not for the card novice. The effort it requires is more than adequately repaid by its stunning effect, coupled with a surprise ending. You receive a bonus tutorial on the Ascanio Spread with the instructions for the effect. These helpful videos easily enable you to achieve success. Note that a table isn't required.

Grifty Business
Jon Racherbaumer
- Band Slam: A chosen card is lost in the deck and a rubber band is wrapped twice around its sides. The magician inserts his fingers under the top strand of the rubber band and holds the deck in an overhand grip. He then slams the deck against the table and the selection suddenly appears face-up on top of the magician's knuckles and under the rubber band.
