Video instructions are great particularly when it comes to timing, pacing or when the moves become difficult. However, video is lacking in many ways. If you do not get a healthy does of reading your development as magician will suffer. Our suggestion is to at least spend as much time reading as watching videos. You should have no problem finding enough reading in the form of great ebooks here at the Lybrary.

Sierpinski's Peek by Tom PhoenixImagine this:
  • You turn your back
  • They shuffle the deck
  • They select one card
  • They replace it reversed in the deck
  • They shuffle again

Tom Phoenix

Divide and Conquer by Tom PhoenixThis is a series of methods for taking a spectator-shuffled deck and sorting it into piles of red and black - while blindfolded.

And one of the methods (as shown in the demo) gives you the ability to identify the suit and value of each card of a borrowed, shuffled deck, requiring no memorization.

There are six methods in total, three of which use "special" decks (can still be used for your other card magic), and the other two use borrowed decks. All of them can be done blindfolded.

Scott Creasey

Totally Awe-Sum Close-Up by Scott CreaseyInspired by Greg Arce's stage routine 'Awe-Sum Total' which in turn was inspired by Larry Becker's 'Sum total. Scott has taken Greg's original (with his permission) and adapted it for close-up table hopping without losing the impact of the original.

Five, five digit numbers are displayed to the audience as a prediction. These numbers remain in full view throughout the routine and are not switched. The audience generates a random six-digit number in the hundreds of thousands, no forcing. The five prediction numbers are added together by an audience member using the calculator on his phone. The total matches...

Ralf (Fairmagic) Rudolph

Label Flash by Ralf (Fairmagic) RudolphA bottle label magically penetrates the glass and is attached on the inside of the bottle.

Effect: Write down a prediction, for example a playing card. Since you have no piece of paper you write the prediction on the label of a cola bottle. Then have a spectator take a card from your deck (yes folks, you will need to force the card). And then reveal that you have correctly predicted the card. To give the spectator a little souvenir you sign the bottle label. On further thought you want to make it even more special. Take out your lighter, burn the label and suddenly the label with the prediction...

Diminishing Not Likely by Paul GordonSpectator freely chooses a card. The performer looses the card in the deck and takes the top 4 cards, and then shows each of the four cards as being the chosen card. Weird. For the finale the four cards turn into the four aces. A fast and very visual routine.

Corner of Piccadilly by Paul GordonA "find the lady" type of routine with four cards with several phases.
"Paul Gordon's Corner of Piccadilly is a very strong monte routine that uses un-gaffed cards. Its kicker is truly astounding, and all can be examined. If ever there was a "worker," this is it." - David Regal

Kevin Parker

Lift: levitate a wallet by Kevin ParkerA new way to lift a wallet. It's not what you think.

You won't believe the video. This is an ultra-visual, realistic levitation of your spectator's wallet, without thread. You levitate their wallet after asking if he's seen the various ways of 'lifting' wallets (pickpocket style). You offer to demonstrate a new method on his wallet, needing to see his wallet first to see if it's the "right type," just an excuse for you to lay the wallet on the table (or whatever surface) and make it lift.

Practicality: Super Easy. From beginning to end, not one gimmick is seen nor anything exposed that...

You get a show routine by decorated magician Peki. Peki won with his manipulation performance many international first prizes and also two awards at the FISM World Championships.

This chip performance developed over 30 years of practice, has continued to capture the attention...
