Few people know that there is a secret assistant in each deck of cards. “Secret Assistant” is a little helper for card magicians. It will definitely help you find the chosen card. The card can be signed. The gimmick can be used for other tricks. The gimmick requires various supplies to construct.

Show an empty TicTac box and a coin. Visually toss the coin in to the box and the coin will melt through it. Upon learning the secret, you will immediately want to rush out and perform it.

A corner from a card is seen in a transparent plastic bag. Blow on it ... and the corner will disappear. The disappearance of the corner is very fast and visual. The trick works automatically, all you have to do is to blow on the bag and the corner will disappear. After the trick, the bag can be given to the spectator.

[Note that the video only explains the vanish of the corner from the transparent bag. If you want to show a card tear off a corner put it in the bag and then vanish it, you will have to figure out how to secretly introduce the gimmicked bag with a prepared corner already inside.]

This is similar to Framing the Queen except you do it with a one dollar bill.

A dollar bill is shown from both sides. Performer tears out two small rectangles from the inside of the bill. One of these rectangular tear-outs has its center removed to create a little frame, which is freely shown. Magician folds this little frame over the center beam of the larger bill frame and eventually the little frame clearly hangs from the center beam of the larger frame. How did it get on there?

Note that it is not easy to prepare the gimmick. It is much easier to do this with a playing card. With a bill it will require...

The magician shows two cards: a regular picture card and a blank face one. The magician stacks the cards on top of each other and the card with the picture visually turns white. After the effect, both cards can be examined by the spectator. Includes a bonus idea by Zaw Shinn. Gimmick requires arts and crafts and some supplies you may not have at home.

The magician takes a spectator signed card, folds it in half, and splits the card into two parts! Only one hand movement and the card becomes whole again. Before and after the trick the spectator can inspect the card.

A playing card missing a corner melts through a window glass pane.

Once the card has melted through the glass the spectator can touch the glass. This method is very quick and cheap to make, about $1, and thus the name of the trick. Works with any glass pane that is not too thick.

[Note: The $1 cost statement assumes you have common supplies available when it comes to gaffing cards, such as double sided tape, invisible thread, etc. If you do not have these available then it will cost you more, because you will likely have to purchase more than you actually need for this one gimmick. Also keep in mind that most will incur shipping costs to stock up on these supplies.]

If you didn't like Burmese Change because of the setup, then here is a different way you may like much better. Zaw Shinn has created this version in pursuit to find the most practical and visual effect he can perform up close in front of the camera. This vanish is easy to do and it looks like CGI. No fancy set up is required and the materials to make the gimmick can easily be found.

The magician shows a card and a black disc. In front of the spectator's eyes the disc jumps on to the card and turns into a hole. After the trick the card with a hole can be handed out to the spectator as a souvenir. Usual card gaffing supplies are needed.

Created by Zaw Shinn and taught by Mario Tarasini. This visual ink moving effect is easy to do and it looks just like CGI. No fancy or fragile set up is required and the material to make the gimmick can easily be found. There are so many versions of the Card in Wallet - yet none as unique as this one. A freely signed and selected card appears in a paper wallet that happens to be a sheet of paper openly folded into the shape of a wallet right in front of the spectator.

Forget leather wallets. Forget trick wallets. No duplicates, just plain powerful magic with a regular deck and a sheet of A4/US-letter paper that is folded into a wallet. The 'simplicity' of the wallet and the fact that the spectator checks everything themselves makes this effect mind-blowing.

You will learn how to prepare a special card which you can later magically link to the stem of a wineglass. To achieve this you do not need to fold the card, which means there will be no creases in the card. The preparation of the gimmicked card takes a good amount of time, about 15 minutes. You can hand out the card linked to the glass as souvenir.

Take one card and place it on top of the card box. With a wave of the hand the card melts through the box and appears in the middle of the deck. The effect is so convincing that the spectator will think it is an optical illusion.

A spectator signs a playing card which you link to the stem of a borrowed wine glass. The card can be moved while it is linked to the glass. Eventually it is unlinked. Both glass and card can be inspected by the spectator before and after the linking/unlinking sequence.

Hand Balance: You make a card stand flat on your hand.

Angle Balance: The corner of a card balances on your index finger.

Balancing Cigarette: A very crazy and brain-breaking trick. You balance a card, and also balance a cigarette on the card.

The magician throws the corner on to the card, the card is restored and the whole card changes color. And that’s not the end. Visual and practical effects are rarely combined into one trick. Hallucination is a very practical and visual trick. Imagine you draw 4 points on a playing card, after which you shake the deck and they line up, and that’s not all, you shake the deck again and the points completely disappear.

A clever, clean and visual sleight-of-hand disappearance of a finger-ring. A technique with which you can make a ring disappear or you can turn it into a coin. You will need a little practice, but it's worth it.

BONUS EFFECT: Put the ring on the table, cover it with a card and it disappears.
