The Shank Shuffle, a full deck false shuffle, was published in 1971 on Ed Marlo's behalf by Jon Racherbaumer. The Zarrow shuffle came out around the same time. New Yorkers backed this method and that overshadowed the Shank method, which may be superior, depending on your point of view. The Shank method is regarded as more convincing by some card handlers. A killer predicted card at any number effect.

Effect:

A deck of cards is introduced. The magician claims that there is a prediction in the deck which he will reveal in a moment. The spectator then names any number between 1 and 52. Say the number is 34. The magician deals down to that number and out-jogs the card. As the magician points out that any number could have been named, other cards are shown with totally normal backs. The selected card is then removed from the deck and turned over. Drawn on the back of the card is the number 34.

Simple. Direct. Powerful.

This is a knockout...

The magician shows a card with a hole in it. He grabs the hole and stretches it. After a moment the hole morphs back to its original shape. But that is not all. The magician slowly peels the hole from the card - the hole becomes a sticker and the card is solid, restored to its normal state.

A playing card is shown from both sides. The spectator initials the face of this card. Performer tears out two small rectangles from the inside of the card. One of these rectangular tear-outs has its center removed to create a little frame, which is freely shown. Magician folds this little frame over the center beam of the larger card frame and suddenly the little frame clearly hangs from the center beam of the larger frame. How did it get on there? Burmese Change is a triple card change using a gimmick and sleight-of-hand.

Spectator signs a card which is returned to the deck. The magician takes a random card and the card changes two times in to different cards, and the third change is when a random card changes in to the card signed by the spectator. After the trick, the card can be given to the spectator as a souvenir.

Requires the preparation of a gimmick which is three cards thick.

A Card Warp effect that ends with an 'impossible' signed card with half turned face-out and the other half back-out.

Effect: A playing card is folded and then signed by a spectator. This folded and signed card is inserted between another folded card, just like in the classic Card Warp effect. Then the inside card is pushed from left to right and from right to left. First the direction of the white border of the card's back switches position. Then one half of the card turns face outward. At this point the folded and signed card can be handed out as souvenir to the spectator. It will have one...

Effect: Show an empty bottle and a coin. Visually toss a coin in to the bottle and the coin will melt through it. The bottle is then handed to the spectator for inspection and to keep. Spectator cannot find any holes or gimmicks. Also, you can do this effect with a bottle full of water or any drink. Requires two gimmicks which are easy to prepare.
