
Max Dessoir
(8th February 1867 - 19th July 1947)
German psychologist who coined the term parapsychology. He was a contemporary of Sigmund Freud and an amateur magician. His most important work is The Double Ego, but for magicians his most important work is The Psychology of Legerdemain. He contributed a similar article, "Psychology of the Art of Conjuring", to Burlingame's book Around the World with a Magician and a Juggler. He also wrote under the pseudonym Edmund W. Rells.
