He practised magic from the age of 13. He had his Bachelors Degree in Physics from Pachayappas College, Chennai. He had his private pilot licence from the Madras Flying Club. He was working as a restaurant manager in five star hotel. The love towards the art of magic has made him resigned his job to become a professional magician.

He has toured with his magic shows in the Middle East, East Asian countries and through out India in top night clubs.

He has become the associate of Illusionist Bhagiyanath. He has reinvented Indian Rope Trick, club and stage version (portable). He was one of the top sleight of hand magicians in India during his period. He started writing magic articles for Lewis Ganson's Teach-in column.

His The Little Genie magic has become very famous and it has been sold in Europe and U.K. The trick booklet was translated into German and sold along with the Little Genie.

He has become very famous for his Indian Cups and Balls magic. He has written many articles and books on magic in English. He has passed away in the year April 1996 due to cancer in the duedenum.

Indian Cups and Balls (Know-How Series) by P. K. Ilango

The Indian Cups and Balls trick is as old as Indian Magic itself. It is angle proof and traditionally performed seated on the ground cross-legged surrounded by spectators.

The cups vary according to class status. The wealthy Indian conjurer uses gleaming brass cups. The middle class conjurer uses cups made up of wood. The poor conjurer uses the cups made up of coconut shells. They make a hole on the top of a coconut half-shell and through it they will stuff rolled cotton clothes to serve as knobs to hold the cups.

The Madras Paper Repeat Climax by P. K. Ilango

Effect: A quarter-size piece of newspaper is torn into six pieces. Two pieces are discarded. When the pieces are counted, there are again six pieces. This time four pieces are discarded. When remaining pieces are counted, there are again six pieces of paper. This time five pieces of paper are discarded. Now only one piece of paper is left in the hand. Suddenly the one piece of paper becomes a fully-restored paper.

Questo effetto unisce quello della ripetizione delle sei carte con quello del giornale strappato e ricomposto con una meravigliosa presentazione di Ken De Courcy.

Un quarto di foglio di giornale, viene strappato in sei pezzi. Due pezzi vengono scartati. Quando i pezzi vengono contati, ci sono di nuovo sei pezzi…

Questa volta vengono scartati quattro pezzi. Quando i pezzi rimanenti vengono contati, ci sono di nuovo sei pezzi di carta!

Infine, vengono scartati cinque fogli di carta. Ora nella mano è rimasto solo un pezzo di carta. All'improvviso l'unico pezzo di carta diventa il foglio...
