The Magic Menu was the brain child of Jim Sisti and began publication with the September/October 1990 issue. It appeared for 11 years and was discontinued. In 2009 Jim Sisti revived The Magic Menu, but only four more issues appeared until it was closed down for good.
The Magic Menu was the only periodical dedicated to performing magic at restaurants, bars and other night spots. | |

Gambler's Cop From TiltAllan AckermanThis is a very efficient and deceptive move by Steve Draun. A card that is inserted into the deck automatically ends up in the gambler's cop.
Chris Wasshuber independently developed this move in 1993 during his stay in Japan including an important visual convincer. If you want to learn this improved variation email him. He might be talked into releasing it. If you can't get Chris to talk then check out the Huot/Duperre control from Magic Menu volume 10. It is very similar to what Chris is doing.

Conversational NegotiationBrian T. LeesEntertainment should not be a menu of prices set in stone. There are ways you can charge more for your performances. The power rests in the key elements of communication. Bringing the conversation to an ultimate "take it or leave it" conclusion may not be in the magician's best interest.
There are four elements that need to be covered through conversation. Quoting a price without knowing those elements is a problem that chips away at the magician's profits. Magicians who make more money deploy these elements. They are not hard. In fact, they are so simple to work with that no special training... | $25 to wish listPDF |
Foam Kangaroo AbsDale A. HildebrandtThe title of Dale A. Hildebrandt's latest manuscript is Foam Kangaroo Abs. The ebook started out as a very comprehensive, thorough, detailed, and examined-from-all angles treatise on all things related to anagrams within the magic and mentalism world. Not only are progressive anagrams discussed, but there are also details on branching anagrams, non-verbal branching anagrams, the puzzler's anagrams wherein words are re-arranged as games or clues, visual anagrams, and other topics either tangentially or specifically related to anagrams in the mystery arts.
Many others either confuse branching... | ★★★★★ $34.25 to wish listPDF |
Balloon DetectiveDevin KnightFor many years, Devin Knight's Balloon Detective has been a runaway best seller with magic shops. Due to many requests, Devin is offering his Balloon Detective as a PDF along with the cards you can print out. This way when they wear out, you can print them as you need them without having to buy the trick over again.
This is a great tool for both family entertainers and mentalists. You can use this even if you have never made a balloon animal in your life. One of the effects doesn't even use real balloons!
Until now, there have been few ways to tie in your magic with balloon sculpturing.... | ★★★★★ $10 to wish listPDF |
Food For ThoughtDevin KnightThe performer shows a menu card from a restaurant listing various foods. Anyone is invited to come forth and secretly write the name of any food from the menu on a blank index card and drop it face down on a plate.
NO FORCES OR RESTRICTIONS. The performer says the special of the day at the restaurant is two for the price of one. To get the special the performer has to order the same item. Performer than secretly writes down his choice from the menu on another index card and drops it on another plate. Once this has been done the performer and participant exchange plates and both show the... | ★★★★★ $12 to wish listPDF |
RhymeTime SublimeDr. Bill Cushman... up with it."
From Rich Hennessey:
"Dr.Bill's evolution of Mick Ayres' wonderful "RhymeTime" principle pens a plethora of possible presentations that any performer should appreciate....since it can incorporate nearly anything 'written'. I perform in restaurants...so for me, using a restaurant menu for the good doctor's "RhymeTime Sublime"...immediately came to mind...very nice Dr. Bill."
From Ron Martin:

MINT V UnauthorizedEdward Marlo & Wesley James
More than the twenty major Marlo items Ed contributed to New Tops Magazine in 1982-1983 - not to mention new sleights, finesses, and subtleties - these items have been largely unavailable since their publication, almost 40 years ago. Wesley James has added another two years of material toward fulfilling Ed Marlo's expressed wishes, keeping his material available "for the guys."
As with Wesley's two previous releases, M.I.N.T. III and M.I.N.T. IV, these long-unavailable Marlo items could have been all Wesley compiled. Such a volume would have been a huge contribution to the literature of card magic. As a tribute... | $60 to wish listPDF |
