Subliminal 3 by Maximiliano Yedid

Much of what is published in magic revolves around different handlings to do the same things. Check for yourself how many versions of the same things are published each year. Other stuff do focus on the more deeper aspects of theatrical magic, but many times the results are far from optimal, being long stories plastered on self working card tricks, involving counting and dealing, etc.

Rare is to find pieces created from the inside out (instead of the outside in).

In this small collection you will find 3 interesting pieces involving deep presentations with playing cards.

Lie Detector is a CRAZY way of performing a type of lie detector effect, in which the lie itself reveals to you the truth. Can be used as an opener for any theme of truth and lies.

Subliminal Conviction mimics the effect of "The Usual Suspects" and "The 6th Sense", where at the end it is revealed that things that happened during the effect were in fact the puzzle pieces that led to the result.

Different Outlook combines optical illusions and a deep but subtle message in a two-phase routine, that simply amazes people.

Finally, as a gift for you, there is a small essay titled "The Gift", in which it is explained how you can structure your performances to present an intangible gift to your audiences in every performance.

Everything is very easy to do, self working or close to self working.

A few well written, easy to follow and easy to do routines. You're not going to learn any new methods. You are going to get some simple card effects but the important point is that each has a solid presentation that will work for you. One of the routines is most suited to a particular David Blaine deck, because the jokers therein contain an optical illusion, but there are plenty of sources for optical illusions on the web and in print and one could easily photocopy and laminate one of these to introduce the effect.

The title pretty much sums up the presentational theme of the effects. If you're willing to invest the $6 asking price I doubt you'll be disappointed, I wasn't.
