SELF WORKING - SELF CONTAINED - INSTANT RESET - WORKS EVERY TIME
(This is Dave's treatment of Cameron Francis' effect 18: A Powerhouse Prediction Effect.)
EFFECT: You display a deck of cards and begin by telling your spectator two pieces of information:
- One of the cards in the deck has had its back altered.
- The deck is in a completely random order but for three cards which you have specifically positioned for the experiment.
The deck is spread face up and the spectator is asked to verify that the deck appears to be in a completely random order. The spectator confirms that it is. You begin to deal through the deck, face up on the table, asking a spectator to say 'stop' whenever they like. Whichever card they stop on is used to find a second card and that card is used to find a third. The entire procedure appears completely fair and above board. Here's where it gets weird...
You claim that the three cards the spectator has arrived at are actually the three you specifically positioned! You ask the spectator to turn over one of the Jokers (both Jokers have been in full view throughout.) It correctly predicts the suit and value of the third card! You total the value of all three cards. The spectator turns over the other Joker and it accurately predicts the total! Finally, reminding your spectator of the 'one card with an altered back', the card they initially stopped you on is turned over to reveal the words 'STOP HERE' in big black bold letters!
BONUS: Also includes 'WING CLIPPED' - an impromptu version of The Butterfly Effect. 'WING CLIPPED' closely approximates The Butterfly Effect but you can do it with a borrowed, spectator shuffled deck.
