Amateur. 1936 Sphinx Award. Invented Silk Cabby (1933), Just Chance = Bank Night (1935), New Principle Card Trick (1936) with its slit card (1936), and reportedly Monkey Bar (by 1955).

Wrote 15 booklets, including Tricks that Work (1927), Card Tricks that Work (1934; repr 1948, 24pp), 21 New Card Tricks (1936, 20pp), Immediate Magic (1937, 19pp), Scots Magic (1939, 24pp), 20 Tricks (1943, 20pp), and Top Twenty (1958, 25pp). Tricks in Jinx, Magic Wand, Gen, and Psycho.
