Trevor Henry Hall

(Wakefield, England: 28th May 1910 - 8th March 1991)

Chartered surveyor and lecturer on bibliographic studies. Amateur magician since 1930s and collector of magic books (many of which are now in The Magic Circle Library). MIMC 1947.

Wrote The Testament of Ralph W. Hull [1945, 116pp], Nothing is Impossible [1946, 62pp], Reading is Believing (1947, 104pp; repr [1969]), A Bibliography of Books on Conjuring in English from 1580 to 1850 (1957, 96pp), Old Conjuring Books (1972, 228pp), The Card Magic of Edward G. Brown (1973, 211pp), and Some Printers and Publishers of Conjuring Books, 1800-1850 (1976, with Percy Muir).

In the occult field wrote several important books, including The Haunting of Borley Rectory (1956, with Dingwall and Goldney), Four Modern Ghosts (1958, with Dingwall), Strange Case of Edmund Gurney (1964, 219pp), Search for Harry Price (1978), and The Enigma of Daniel Home (1984, 148pp).
