Alfred DiGiacomo

I served for 3 years in the U.S.Army Air Force during World War 2. I served in Europe with a Signal Battalion. We provided communication support for the 9th Tactical Air Command which provided Fighter Bomber support to the U.S. First Army. We were on Omaha Beach on D+2 and supported 9th TAC thru France, Belgium and Germany all the way to the Elbe River. We ended up in Weimar and toured Buchenwald Concentration Camp. During that time in the service I kept a daily Diary. I wrote up my diary into a book titled A Soldier's Diary published by Xlibris. It is a down to earth book tells all bout my life, my dates, my being wounded, and almost being in the Invasion of Japan.

Thanks to the G.I Bill I became an Architectural Draftsman and later a licensed Architect design schools and other Public Building.
