Catherine Dorsette
Catherine Helena Dorsette (1966- ) is originally from the Commonwealth of Dominica. She worked as a News Reporter for some 20 years with various newspapers on the island of Dominica to include The New Chronicle, Tropical Star, The Independent and Mirror where her by-line read Helena Durand. A devout Christian, Catherine now resides on the Emerald Isle of Montserrat with her husband, and children and precious granddaughter. She also worked as a News Reporter/Sub-Editor at the Montserrat Reporter.
She received two Fellowship Awards in Taiwan (1995) and in Japan (1997) when she visited as a Journalist. Catherine has won awards for several short stories and poems. Youth Power is her first book to be published, while Aunty Kate's Short Stories is the first to be written.
Catherine is currently reading for her Bachelor of Science in Social Work with the University of the West Indies.
