Claire Matturro
Claire Hamner Matturro, an honors graduate of The University of Alabama Law School, is a former attorney and former college teacher. A former journalist before becoming a lawyer, she also holds a Master degree with honors from UA. She taught introduction of news reporting at The University of Alabama while a law student, and after a decade of lawyering, taught legal writing and appellate procedure at Florida State College of Law and University of Oregon School of Law. She is the author of four legal mysteries with a sense of humor. Her books are: Skinny-Dipping (2004) (a BookSense pick, Romantic Times’ Best First Mystery, and nominated for a Barry Award); Wildcat Wine (2005) (nominated for a Georgia Writer of the Year Award); Bone Valley (2006) and Sweetheart Deal (2007) (winner of Romantic Times’ Toby Bromberg Award for Most Humorous Mystery), all published by William Morrow.
