Danny Blaszczyk
I am an ordinary man, simply working towards the end: retirement, pension, the end! However, my life has been extraordinary, in that I have enjoyed the benefits of recession, unemployment, loss and death.
I have been married for over thirty years, with five children, each independent and ‘going for it’ in their own way and, I also have, five brilliant and fantastic grandchildren, with two more on the way.
I have swung a hammer on a building site, stacked shelves in many famous food retailers, lived on emergency rations to feed the kids and taken control, studying to gain a 2:1 in Humanities, a Post Graduate Diploma in Literature and Politics, worked to become a Head of Department in Further Education and simply love to write.
My poems are a snapshot of what I see. I hear something, see something, experience something, which leads to the written word.
My work is meant to be accessible to all. All should, in some way, take something from this.
