Dorothy K. Morris

Dorothy K. Morris is a native of Charleston, SC, a city some of her forefathers from England, France, New England and Barbados helped to establish in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. She grew up in the Low-Country of South Carolina, steeped in the tradition an pain still felt from the residue of slavery, the Civil War and its aftermath. Much traveled, she adopted the West as her home and has remained for many years. She currently lives in Tucson, AZ, with a Standard Poodle and two Snowshoe cats. In addition to writing novels, Dorothy is an accomplished equestrienne and competition coach for Combined Training. She contributes articles on the Classical System of horsemanship to ExpertBeacon.com and is an advisor on AllExperts.com for horsemanship and creative writing. Morris enjoys genealogy and obtains many of the elements of her plots from her extensive family history. She is a member of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, is listed in Who's Who in America, and Who' Who of American Women. Morris has two daughters and one grandson.
