Free Will is a two phase mind reading routine with an impossible prediction at the end, with only borrowed objects. Impromptu mentalism at its best.
It is impromptu, 100% accurate, and uses no sleight of hand. It is very easy to do and Will often uses it when someone just wants him to show them something. It never fails to amaze. When he performs this, he uses the theme free will, which he talks about during the routine. He uses these magic effects to demonstrate what free will is about, and how you can influence and predict the choices that we make.
You borrow a coin and instruct a participant to hide it in any of her hands, behind her back. Without touching or looking at her hands or asking any questions, you know where it is and you can immediately reveal it.
Next, you write a prediction on a piece of paper and hand it to one of the spectators to guard. You then ask for some random objects. The spectators gather cellphones, watches, finger rings and more. The objects are eliminated one by one in a fair manner until there are only two objects left (PATEO force). The participant is instructed to really think about them and make her last decision. The one object she keeps is the exact object that is written on the prediction; that has been securely guarded by a spectator during the whole process. The method makes you able to perform this anytime, anywhere and with no sleight of hand whatsoever.
Bonus 1: Ideas on how you can make this even more impossible by walking out of the room while letting an assistant and a participant do the process letting you read their minds without even being in the room.
Bonus 2: A card effect based on the second phase of the routine. Impromptu and easy.
