Maintaining Indian family traditions, though studied at the paternal track of Engineering but as greatly inspired & impressed by talented and learned AMMI (as Ivar Utial used to address his mother) abandoned the technical field totally to jump into the fascinating world of creative writing and painting.
Assessing the scarcity of educative scientific literature for children especially for those hailing from poor background or interior parts of the country, the books written by the author in early stage fetched such an overwhelming response that affirmed his determination of sticking to the profession of writing children books.
Having a technical background and ability to draw and paint helped the publishers a lot to get the assignment not only conveniently and more accurately done but also resulting the publications into a sure grand success.
Born on August 10, 1947 and brought up as Ravi Laitu, was when first time offered to write books for children on a subject as interesting and amazing as Magic, not finding worth to be directly associated with it, the young talent acrobatically reversed the spelling of his name and thus Ivar Utial came into existence in the year 1981.
