Kim Witkin
I was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe in 1965 - the youngest of 3 girls. Growing up in a socially and politically unstable environment meant that families were often split up - and both my sisters left home after school to study in Cape Town, South Africa. My parents and I followed them and I completed high school and a degree in Social Work in Cape Town. My thesis was on the use of Art in Therapy. I worked as a social worker in a children’s home. Both of my sisters left South Africa. I married and my husband, David, and I ran a restaurant together. We moved to Johannesburg and our son, Josh, was born in 1996. My work experience includes working in publicity in the entertainment industry and running an art studio for children. In 2001 we immigrated to Perth, Australia where we live and run our own business.
