Leon G. Caesar
The author, Leon G. Caesar, was born in Cape Town in 1963. After graduating with a BA degree from the University of Cape Town in 1984, he taught for one year at a secondary school in Cape Town, whereafter he spent about 17 years as a full-time activist in the struggle against apartheid and for a better world, working in the trade union and political movements. The author went back to teaching at a primary school in a working class district of Cape Town, where he worked for about five years. Since going back to teaching, he completed his PGCE. Of late he has been teaching in the Middle East. Leon G. Caesar is married with three wonderful daughters and an amazing son. He is a vegetarian and has a special place in his heart for all children. He is an avid chess player, and well-known on the Cape Town chess circuit. His other hobby is table tennis.
