Dee Christopher
Shift - Signed Card Transportation by Dee Christopher

This is a really nice card transportation. It's a simple method, simple effect and with the correct patter and theatrics it can be made in to a miracle. There are many creative ways the concept of this effect could be used, it's such a versatile move. The good news is there's absolutely no palming involved!

The spectator selects and signs the back of a card, which is lost in the middle of the deck. The card is then immediately, with empty hands and no funny moves, removed from your top pocket or your wallet or practically anywhere else.

The spectator verifies the value of their card, the...

Cold - The Telesthesia Cards by Dee Christopher

A card merely thought of from the spectators own hands is eerily revealed by the magician. A foolproof method utilizing clever wording and suggestion allows this incredibly solid effect to manifest.

No Sleights, The spectator has a free choice of any of the cards in their own hands, the magician doesn't even touch the cards once they've been handed over and the card is never spoken until it finds it's way out of the magician's lips.

Cinders: Incineration/Restoration by Dee Christopher

"The idea rocks, Clean, Simple, Effective and most of all baffling." - Daniel Madison

A completely impromptu twist on the common tear and restore plot. A card is selected and signed from a regular or borrowed deck. The card is held at finger tips and a lighter is introduced. A portion of the card is burnt away, leaving half a card in the magician's hand.

With just a wave, or even a blow the signed card fully restores and is given out as a souvenir.

Sam Dalal
Mantra by Sam Dalal

Mantra continues where Swami left off with fascinating mix of traditional Indian magic and western style magic. Sam Dalal writes in his introduction:

...One of the reasons for the popularity of these magazines is that much of it is devoted to a branch of bizarre or geek magic, not normally covered in the regular magic publications....

I am delighted with the way Chris Wasshuber (Lybrary.com) has produced this electronic version of the Swami and Mantra magazines. When Chris Wasshuber asked me just a few weeks ago if he could produce the magazines as an e-book for circulation through his Lybrary.com,...

Kevin Parker
Nexus 2 by Kevin Parker

Borrow a ring and a set of keys and visually link the ring onto the keyring with a tap. Impromptu and clean, nothing to find. The ring is seen to go right through the keyring with only a tap, highly visual and undeniable, then you let go of the ring and let it hang from the keyring clearly and unmistakably. After they confirm that that is their ring hanging from the keyring, you melt the ring back off the keyring where you tapped it, and hand everything back, completely clean.

Giacomo Bertini
Florentine Coin Assembly - Music Act by Giacomo Bertini

An amazingly beautiful master coin act performed to music.

I am very happy to show and explain this routine. This is a new version of my original routine, Florentine Assembly. I think this version is definitely better than the original one. At the beginning of the routine, I added a new production of 4 coins, using new techniques I have created in the last years. Very importantly: you'll find a new method for the final climax of the Jumbo coin. And thanks to this amazing method, and with this new version, the routine becomes a "coin- act", which can be presented live in any situation!

Nevil Maskelyne & David Devant
Our Magic by Nevil Maskelyne & David Devant

Two things are noteworthy. One, it is a must read book for magic theory interested. Two, it has a 20 page bibliographical index of card tricks. This includes sleights as well. Anybody doing research on card moves or routines should have this index. It makes searching a lot easier. And this index might point you to interesting books you have not heard about or which are not in your possession.

August Roterberg
Roterberg Catalog 15 by August Roterberg

August Roterberg was a very successfull magic dealer working from Chicago in the 19th century. His catalogs and books are collector items. One of his catalogs, number 15, is reproduced in this ebook. Catalogs help collectors identify and date pieces in their collection. Reading through catalogs is for me an exercise in creativity. When I read an effect description I try to think of a method to achieve it, not knowing the secret behind the trick sold. I am sure you will enjoy browsing through this beautiful catalog with lots of illustrations.

August Roterberg
New Era Card Tricks by August Roterberg

New Era Card Tricks is the masterpiece of Roterberg's publishing efforts. Scholars are pretty sure that the elusive Erdnase must have known and read this book. It is still today an extremely good and important work on cards. It is a book any serious card man should read. This is to a large part the foundation on which a lot of the later card work has been built. A good part of this book is essentially a translation of the German work Der Moderne Kartenkünstler by Friedrich W. Conradi. Richard Hatch wrote a wonderful introduction that by itself is worth reading. He starts:

August Roterberg is chiefly remembered today as a pioneering early twentieth century...
