Martin Lewis

(Northampton, England: 1st September 1946 - )

Inspired seeing father Eric C. Lewis. Moved with family to California in 1968. Learned at age 21 from Bruce Cervon and others. Invented Sidewalk Shuffle in 1971. House magician at the Magic Cellar 1971-73 where he did close-up. Since then works mainly stand-up in comedy clubs, cabaret, revue shows (Las Vegas & Reno), and cruise ships. 1976 AMA Visiting Magician of the Year. In 1985 as "Shuffler" co-founded (with Steve Burton) the MicroMagicon, the first on-line computer conference of magicians.

A Sharper Sharped by Martin Lewis
 A Sharper Sharped

A wonderful routine only requiring a false count. Martin Lewis uses the Buckle count but several other false counts can be substituted.

The premise is a game of cards with a card sharper. You deal cards and the sharper counts his cards. He has 6 cards.
