Sam Grant

I'm Sam Grant and served on merchant ships as a deck officer, which gave reliable resource for writing about life aboard a cargo ship. Presently working on a crime/thriller novel. My poem "Eye of the Storm" was short-listed May this year in a national poetry competition from six thousand entrants. This result gave encouragement to complete a final draft manuscript for Atlantic Hijack.

Have written article comments in New York Times, and other publications under the name Sam Grant. I considered my own name a bit everyday for an adventure novel. Really pleased with the resulting publication. I wanted to produce a handy paperback, which people could take on holiday - pick up at an air or sea port. I also aimed for a mixed young and old readership. Have contacted various maritime publishers and institutions and in the case of the Merchant Navy Association have received positive support. I hope it entertains all who read it. It was planned as a series with Mike Peters progressing up the ladder to ship's captain, but the novel is a complete story as it stands.
