Cull-MinationJon RacherbaumerCulling (cards) is not a particularly fashionable technique. During the past forty years, card magicians started to pay closer attention to various ideas and techniques, especially those having broad application. In this treatise three types of culls will be examined:
- Desired cards are secretly culled during the logical and natural course of an effect.
- Free selections are controlled (culled) to desired positions during a visible procedure that looks fair and
above board.
- A cull done during another fair procedure that results in separating the four suits in Ace to King order.

Dai Vernon's Select SecretsDai VernonPaul Fleming wrote:
This little book contains 12 items in all. There are four tricks and one sleight with cards, two tricks with coins (including one by T. Nelson Downs, the late "King of Koins"), a close-up feat with matches (another Downs specialty, with which he greatly impressed the famous Buffalo Bill), a clever cigarette "switch," an improved method for passing a drinking glass through a table-top, one trick with silk handkerchiefs, and another with tissue paper.
Several of these feats (and particularly the card tricks) are hard to describe briefly, and we shall enlarge upon only three items which seem to... | ★★★★★ $5 to wish listPDF |
Daley BredJon RacherbaumerA study of Daley's Aces its history and spin-offs.
This treatise is a compilation of methods for performing a simple transposition of pairs of cards - namely the red and
black Aces. The basic plot has a checkered history and, despite being associated with Dr. Jacob Daley, there are lots of tangled connective tissue and ancestral than meets the eye.
Besides these aspects, you will discover that this treatise is a rich mixture of memes. That is, there are lots of bits and pieces to play with and, if you are the kind of student that likes to study the history of a trick and then work through... | ★★★★★ $12 to wish listPDF |

DarwinGerard ZittaA classic mathematical principle with two piles.
This is an old mathematical principle used in many card effects. Most of the effects were
done with 52 cards. But the principle works with any number of cards (or business cards). This manual explains the principle in detail and generalizes the principle. It allows you to predict the last card that will be left after dealing two piles and eliminating the same pile every time. After reading this ebook, you will be able to use any number of cards. The original pile can be any size, the discarded pile can be chosen, and the final card can be... | ★★★★★ $10 to wish listPDF |
David's ESP RoutineDavid DevlinDavid Devlin, the guy who brought you Coincidence & Fate, gives you a three-phase routine with an E.S.P. deck. And best of all, the entire routine is self-working!
Phase 1: The deck is shown to consist of five different symbols repeated five times. The cards are then mixed and the squared deck is placed face-down in front of a spectator. The mentalist turns his back to the spectator, and tells her to cut the deck wherever she wishes, and to complete the cut. Once that is done she is to take the top card of the deck (the card she freely cut to, no force!), look at it and then hold it behind her back so that... | ★★★★★ $15 to wish listPDF |
David's ESP TrickDavid Devlin(not to be confused with David’s E.S.P. Routine)
In effect, the performer lays out five cards, each of which has an ESP symbol on in. All of the cards are different and unprepared. Attention is now drawn to a small coin envelope, which, as the performer explains, contains a duplicate of one of the cards on the table. This is the prediction, and is kept in full view throughout the entire proceedings. A spectator now uses his mind to determine which four of the five cards are eliminated. The spectator makes real and honest decisions throughout the elimination process. The envelope is now opened, and it is found... | ★★★★★ $6 to wish listPDF |

Devil's IslandMark Leveridge
This lightweight mental effect is suitable for close up, parlor or even stage and is very simple to do. A map is shown which has six named locations marked on it. A spectator mentally selects one and records his choice on a small card which is concealed in an envelope. Cards bearing the names of the six locations are shuffled by a spectator and placed by him entirely at random into six envelopes which are then given out to audience members. Despite all this, a prediction shown at the start leads to the correct person holding the envelope which contains the spectator's chosen island location.

BASIC EFFECT:
The performer talks about intuition, chance and that little feeling we get when we know something is right, or wrong. A deck of cards is introduced and legitimately shuffled. Half the deck is put away to streamline the demonstration. The other half is then handed to the spectator and the performer offers his/her outstretched palms as a surface to deal on to. The spectator deals the cards into two piles about equal amounts of cards in each, but in no specific order. Once all the... | ★★★★★ $21 to wish listPDF |
