Why A Magic Square Should Not Be A Magic SquareUnknown Mentalist... have it made. You can have the spectator secretly write down a two or three digit number and place it in your peek wallet. Now the performer can sense some numbers to place on THE CIRCLE OF LIFE. Now the performer can give a reading for the spectator (COLD READING) based on the spectator selecting one horizontal and vertical row only. At the end the performer can say based on your choices your AURA NUMBER is ____ (The same number that the spectator thought of in his mind and was placed in the peek wallet.) Emoticon: An Emotional Design DuplicationTC Tahoe... Osterlind's ODD, Osterlind's Design Duplication System. And essentially this same method is used in Feel by Peter Nardi and Marc Spelmann on their Unpexpected DVD set. Not to mention, you could do a design dupe like this using Anton James's Mentalism Symbol Pack. So if you are familiar with any one of these, you'll know immediately how Emoticon works. Now here's what's different: TC has adapted the routine for two spectator duplications. He also shows you how to use a clever crib in plain sight. (There's no doubt that you can get away with this. The Red Hot Coin RevealedDevin Knight
"This is perhaps, the greatest 'come on', or 'bally stunt' the world has ever known." - Floyd Thayer
This is a sadly forgotten effect that was a big hit back in vaudeville, but overlooked by today's magicians. It has been used by Thurston, Blackstone Sr., U. F. Grant, Tommy Windsor and other great magicians. This is one of the funniest routines in magic and you don't have to be a comedian or comedy performer to pull it off. It always results in hilarious laughter.
The premise is simple; the performer invites a boy up and shows him a half-dollar. The performer says, "This is the one and only RED HOT COIN. After years... | ★★★★★ $4 to wish listPDF |
Stage IllusionsWill GoldstonFrom the introduction:
This is an age in which, in order to succeed, one must specialise. One conjuror will specialise in thought-reading tricks, another in silent illusion acts, another in sleight-of-hand tricks, another in the presentation of what I may call “large apparatus” tricks. This book will appeal primarily to illusionists, but I fancy that other magicians will find that it is well worth perusal. I have heard of illusionists who have produced some of their best effects by merely enlarging small sleight-of-hand tricks, and I have no doubt that some sleight-of-hand performers... | ★★★★★ $6 to wish listPDF |
Miniature Haunted HouseThe Great Leon... join, bottles rise and fill glass with milk, a card trick is done, a slate is written upon, and finally the spirit is caught and materializes in a glass jar! Plus many other weird and wonderful happenings. Nothing like Leon's Haunted House in magic today. A unique series of effects blended into one beautiful and sensational act.
The Great Leon, not looking a day over 30, demonstrated his spirit house which won him trophies and triumphs. This act stopped the show at the USO Hollywood Canteen.

Propless PolarisUnknown MentalistThis is a propless and surefire star sign divination method suitable for performing over a voice phone call. It uses a novel and clever method called SignZEN to divine the star sign of a participant on the other end of a call, maybe thousands of miles away. This refreshing principle is not known to have been used in this manner before. Of course, this routine can be performed in face-to-face situations also with appropriate adjustments. You can even perform this over a text chat or on a video call.
It is clarified upfront that this method is totally different from Signature, Propless Sign Divination, Zodiac Gods, Star Signature, Elemental 1 & 2, and Birthday Calendar by the... | ★★★★★ $12 to wish listPDF |
(Contact)Less is More ACAANJoseph B. & Biagio Fasano ... the top of each of the four piles will get a totally random sum total, covering any number up to 52, which corresponds to the number of cards in the deck (it would suffice if they were the 4 Kings since each is assigned the value 13, 12 to the Queen and 11 to the Jacks...).
However so that no one could think he is influencing the experiment having already been able to see the values of two of the cards, the illusionist asks the spectator to turn over each of the four stacks, so that he gets 4 totally random cards, determined by those now on top of each (two will be face-down and two face-up).

Invented in 1986, and marketed as Cosmosis by Ben Harris, this effect has become one of the most pirated close-up creations in magic's recent history. It truly has become a "classic." Even today, twenty-three years after its debut, unscrupulous individuals and manufacturers in many countries market it without any due respect for its heritage or compensation for its creator. Theta WavesDavid DevlinNick Trost's "Eight Card Brainwave" is a classic and killer effect. That effect was the starting point for David when "Theta Waves" was in an embryonic state. What David has done is created an "Eight Card Brainwave" effect that is totally examinable. There is only one odd backed card in the eight-card packet!
The basic effect is simple. A packet of eight arbitrary cards is shown. All eight cards are different on the face. The backs however, are not shown. I learned a lot about this, with 5 objects, from Max Maven's video, and at the same time, I discussed this with Charles Reynolds who in turn discussed it with Pat Page. Then I put in some work of my own and came up with a very practical way of working this.
