Sherrill S. Cannon
A former teacher and a grandmother of nine, all four of my books are in rhyme and all try to teach something like good manners and caring for others. In 2011-12, I won ten National Awards for my books The Magic Word, Peter and the Whimper-Whineys, and Santa's Birthday Gift and hope to win some with Gimme-Jimmy in 2012. I also have written six published and internationally produced plays for elementary school children. A magna cum laude graduate of The American University, I have had a varied career: I was a teacher and coach, and then a newspaper sports photographer and columnist; later a Dinner Theatre and Talent Manager; and finally a Business Administrator. My husband of 52 years and I are now retired, and travel in our RV from coast to coast each year to spend time with our grandchildren... sharing my books along the way!
