Una McGinley Sarno

Dr. Una McGinley Sarno, Ph.D. has extensive experience in teaching all grades from Pre-K to Freshman College. She has certification to teach K-12 through the medium of Gaelic or English in Ireland. She also has certification to teach in Canada and the United States. In the United States, she has taught in the public and private school sectors.

Her undergraduate and graduate work in Ireland were completed at Carysfort Training College where she earned an N.T. Diploma, and University College Dublin where she earned a B.A., H. Dip. Ed. and a Ph.D. in 2008. She also earned a Masters in Education degree at Fordham University, where she met her husband Dr. Ronald Sarno, Ph.D. JD. He is a New Jersey Certified Trial Attorney where he practices law. He also has a firm in Manhattan. Their daughter, Niamh, is pursuing her Masters in Education at St. Peter’s College.

In February, 2010 she received the prestigious Dissertation of Distinction Award presented to her by Dr. Patrick Jenlink at the National Convention of the Association of Teacher Educators (ATE). In October, 2010 she was selected as a citizen ambassador to China to study educational practices there by the People-to-People Program, which was founded by President Eisenhower for professionals from different disciplines, and has been supported by every subsequent President of the United States. She has lectured on her Paradigm in Dallas, Chicago, Orlando, Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York and Dublin, Ireland. She is scheduled to give a presentation in San Antonio in February, 2012 at the National Conference of the Association of Teacher Educators.
