On Tuesday the 19th of July 2016, the renowned International Man of Mystery, David Berglas introduced the premiere of Martin T. Hart's Unfathomable which claims to be 'the most baffling demonstration of ESP ever witnessed anywhere, ever'. Mr. Berglas described the story of the famous Piddingtons, a husband and wife telepathy act on BBC radio in 1949, who could communicate using only their minds. Their secrets were undiscovered for 70 years, until Martin published his book, Piddington's Secrets.
The stage-show 'Unfathomable', is a series of demonstrations of two-person telepathy, written by and starring Edward (Eddie) James Dean and Margot (Maggie) Fox as, 'The Deans'. The couple began experimenting with telepathy while studying physical theatre (MFA) at the Accademia dell'Arte in Tuscany. They furthered these experiments as artists-in-residence at the School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts in Seattle. Currently they are conducting PhD and Masters level research on the performance of telepathy and witchcraft at University College Cork, in Ireland.
The invitation-only premiere was well attended, and included Debbie McGee, members of The Magic Circle and interested promotors. The show invited Professor Richard Wiseman and Professor Caroline Watt from the University of Edinburgh (UK) to join the Mayor and Mayoress of Barnet (David Longstaff and Gillian Griffiths) in acting as adjudicators during the demonstrations.
The performance earned the Deans a standing ovation. Martin T. Hart, hoping to reignite an appetite for the two-person telepathy act and save this genre of magic from extinction, plans to tour the show and introduce the Deans to the world.
The performance was filmed and this is the recording as a download.
