Aces in Deception or "How Right You Are"Lewis GansonAn easy and effective multiphase routine with a Svengali deck. A spectator is correct continually in finding a previously selected card which the performer underlines with the punch line "How Right You Are." From the introduction:
Here is one of those card routines in which the happenings are inexplicable to the uninitiated. The handling of the cards is so natural and each move is performed so deliberately, that trickery appears out of the question, yet a series of effects take place which really are uncanny.
To begin with, I will confess that a Svengali pack is used throughout and... | $10 to wish list
Aces UpLynn J. SearlesAn exceptionally clever version of the 4-Ace Trick - no trick aces - use a borrowed deck. In effect the 4 aces are dealt singly on to the table, face down. Twelve indifferent cards are then shown and dealt on to them, making four packets, one of which is chosen by a spectator. No force of any kind, believe it or not, he takes any of the four packets. The remaining three are turned over to show all indifferent cards. The four Aces are in the packet chosen. It's the most convincing of all Four Ace Tricks, and we know it will fool the best of card men. A couple of easy-to-do moves and the special... | ★★★★★ $4 to wish list

Achromatic PredictionNefeschA box is given to anyone you want (the chief of police, the major, a TV producer, etc.) This box is sealed and it will be opened some days later. The box will never be touched again by you or anybody else involved in the stunt. The day that the prediction will be opened, lets say you are performing at the radio while there are live people waiting to see the box opened, you ask the radio audience to call in to the radio station, they will be taking part in a mind experiment in which they will have to make some decisions that will create at the end a random event, which when the box is opened... | $12 to wish listMP4 (video)

Ackerman's All BacksAllan AckermanThis is a fun routine that first appeared in Allan's Magic Mafia book. It is based on a Dai Vernon plot from the 60s. However, a typical 'all backs' routine requires many moves - half passes and double lifts. Here Allan has engineered a routine with a lot less moves. You could even do this routine while maintaining a stacked deck. You show a deck that consists of cards that have backs printed on the front and back. This changes then to faces on both sides of the cards until everything goes back to normal.

ACOCAVANRaphaël CzajaFrom the creator of the best-seller SCAMP comes a new effect based on the ACAAN plot. Although it is not the "Grail", it is direct to the point with a minimum of sleights and a few subtleties for a maximum impact! EFFECT: The magician shuffles a deck of cards and asks a spectator to cut the deck a first time to determine a suit and a second time to determine a value (the suit and the value of the cards he cut to, let's say a Diamond and a 4). Then, the magician asks the spectator to imagine where his card may lie into the deck and thus, to think of any number. The spectator reveals he's thinking... | ★★★★★ $8 $5 to wish list
Acrobatic AcesAllan AckermanThis is another classic of card magic, a routine first published in Paul LePaul's book. The four aces are put back into the deck at different locations. The deck is shuffled and one half is half-way stuck into the other half. A few flicks and one ace at a time flies out of the deck.

This trick sometimes shows up on eBay with no instructions. Effect: Golf club swings, floats, reverses, and apparently gets away from the performer. Then when broken into three sections, it automatically restores itself to its original shape. It may also be produced from a silk or other cover. Acting for MagiciansRichard L. TenaceA practical workbook for the serious performer. One of the main reasons magicians neglect the "acting" part of magic is because magic is such a demanding discipline to learn. A performing magician wears many hats. The magician has to learn sleights, misdirection and technical prowess of the hands. The magician is the choreographer, writer, sound person, booker and promoter of his show. Learning how to develop a character often takes a back seat because "there's no time to do everything!" But taking the time to learn how to develop a real character, or stage persona, is the most important... | ★★★★★ $12 to wish listPDF_facsimile
