The effects and routines include apparatus tricks, mental stunts, spirit writing, predictions, magazine and book tests, thumb ties, and tricks with cards, silks, coins, cigarettes, billiard balls, sponge ball and a terrific rope routine.

Solar WindWilliam LeeSolar Wind - The Perpetual Floating Card - is not so much a magic trick as it is a piece of magic art. A card hovers above the deck...and just keeps on hovering. Leave it on a desk, table, or shelf and it could be enjoyed for years.
Is the method invisible? It depends on the surface, the background, and the lighting. Set up on a dark surface it is very difficult to see the mechanism, even from a couple of feet away. By choosing the right conditions it is possible to make it even more invisible. However, the method is not 100% invisible.
This is hard to build. Some of the steps require... | $10 currently unavailable

Modern Magicians Hand BookWilliam John HilliarWhat an excellent book. The quality of the material is outstanding. What makes this book particularly rare is a chapter on juggling and how to fake great juggle skills. I have yet to see another book on magic with such an extensive chapter on juggling. You will also find the obligatory chapter on shadowgraphy, a good write up of black art, and large sections on cards, coins, and tricks with many other props. You will find billiard ball manipulation as well as stage tricks with large apparatus.

The Confessions of a Con ManWilliam Henry Irwin
A wonderfully interesting confession of a con man who was a contemporary of Erdnase, and just like him operated for a time while traveling with small circuses in Illinois and surrounding states. Of particular interest is a full dialog of how an unsuspecting person on the train was lured into gambling 3 card monte. The dialog demonstrates how skillfully these operatives were and how well they understood human nature. Other cons are also described in detail.
Excerpt from the preface:
When these confessions appeared serially, friends and distant enquirers took it for granted that they were fiction;... | $15 to wish listPDF |
