Stratagem is a 3 phase modular routine using a regular pack of playing cards. It is easy enough for a month old beginner and at the same time delivers an impact of an expert. Each phase of Stratagem stands on its own and at the same time builds upon the previous one.

1. The performer asks an audience member (1st participant) to name a suit. The participant does so.

2. Next, the performer moves towards the 2nd participant to name a number (value) between 1 and 10 he unboxes the deck. But then he suddenly remembers that he needs to give out a notepad and pen to record the choices...

Show a playing card which has random holes in it. This is best done by putting it in front of a light source, such as your phone's screen. In an instant the holes rearrange to something meaningful.
