Bob Cayne
Bob Cayne is no stranger to golf. In addition to playing social golf for more than six decades (yes, he’s actually that old) he was General Chairman of the World Championship of Women’s Golf, organized and promoted PGA Senior Tour events and the Women’s Western Amateur Championship, co-hosted the weekly radio show ‘Talking Golf’ and served as marketing consultant to several golf industry clients.
If anything defines Cayne, it is his sense of humor. A close second is the way he collects and tells stories.
Cayne grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He spent 22 years in the banking business, nine years in higher education and 10 years as a marketing and advertising consultant. In 1995 he moved to Scottsdale Arizona where “you can‘t drop a golf ball without it rolling into a bunker.”
As he puts it, “One day I was brushing my teeth and I remembered the funny golf stories from the radio show. The guy in the mirror had a big grin on his face. That was all the inspiration I needed to begin writing.”
Cayne has never been more than an average golfer. But he is able to turn that into a good thing––the ability to laugh at himself.
Chances are, you’ll laugh along with him.
