Charles Dickens
(7th February 1812 - 9th June 1870)
Charles Dickens was the greatest novelist of the Victorian era. He was also a social critic and campaigned vigorously for children's rights, education, and other social reforms. He pioneered the serial publication of narrative fiction including cliffhanger endings to keep readers in suspense.
