In 1966 he was offered a fellowship at the University of Florida and received his Masters Degree (1967), his Specialists Degree (1968), and his Doctorate in Science Education in 1969. He then taught at Austin Peay State University in Tennessee and then accepted a position as a High School Principal in Suwannee County Florida. He retired from Florida but returned to Georgia where he served as adjunct professor of Science Education while serving as assistant superintendent of the Brooks County (GA) schools. He retired from all educational activities in 1993.
Cancer was found in his wife Beverly in 2000 and she passed away in 2006.
