John Edgar Coover
(March 16th, 1872 - February 19th, 1938)
John Edgar Coover was an American psychologist and parapsychologist known for his experiments into extrasensory perception.
He conducted thousands of experiments, including with psychics, and concluded after four years of study that "statistical treatments of the data fail to reveal any cause beyond chance". His book Experiments in Psychical Research (1917) debunks extrasensory perception. It was well received for its methodology, rigorous statistics, and use of experimental controls.
