Lance Richardson is an art director and inventor of theatrical magical effects whose passion began backstage at age thirteen. Raised by a magician, he learned early the power of illusion, later refining his craft under mentor Brett Stevens. After performing throughout his teens, Lance shifted his focus to designing original effects, creating illusions such as The Web, The Heist, Shattered Reality and Sword Flight.

He has served as an art director, consultant, and designer for Creative Illusions, Production Stage Works, Living Illusions, and performers worldwide, contributing custom props, stage effects, and instructional material. Today, Lance continues advancing the art of magic through design, consulting, and his global Mockup Illusion Design book series, offering fully detailed, buildable illusions for magicians everywhere.
