Louis Lam
(31st July 1903 - 20th March, 1943)
Louis Lam was a Dutch card magician. Born in Amsterdam, Louis cofounded the conjuring magazine Triks with magic dealer Hank Vermeyden. The magic journal began publication in 1941 and ended in 1943, when the Nazis banned all non-party magazines. He was arrested by the Gestapo and murdered in the Polish concentration camp in Sobibor on March 20, 1943. (Also see article in the New Phoenix.)
Lam authored three books for magicians: Would You Believe It? (1935), Watch Me Closely (1937) and Be Deceived (1939).
