Max Rittenberg

Max Rittenberg was born Max Mark Lion Rittenberg in Sydney Australia to a Russian-Jewish merchant and an Australian-born woman of German-Jewish ancestry whose father had made a fortune in the Victorian gold rush. He moved to England and had a short but prolific career as a writer of short mystery and detective stories with two series of sleuths: Dr. Xavier Wycherley, a psychologist and psychic detective, and Professor Magnum, a chemist and scientific consultant. After giving up writing, he had a successful career in advertising and public relations - Max Rittenberg & Partners.
