Osita Agbu

Osita Agbu is Research Professor at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Lagos, Nigeria. He is currently the editor of the Survey of Nigerian Affairs. He has to his credit several books, chapter contributions and academic articles. He is co-editor, Nigeria in the Global Arena (2011); editor, Children and Youth in the Labour Process in Africa (CODESRIA, 2009); West Africa’s Trouble Spots and the Imperative for Peace-Building (CODESRIA, 2006) and Ethnic Militias and the Threat to Democracy in Post-Transition Nigeria (Nordic Africa Institute, 2004). He coordinated the CODESRIA National Working Group on Elections and Governance in Nigeria, 2008. Professor Agbu has been Visiting Research Fellow at the Nordic Africa Institute, Uppsala, Sweden; Institute for Global Dialogue, Johannesburg, South Africa; and Institute for Developing Economies, Chiba, Japan. He has specializations in Technology and Development; Governance and Democratization, Post-Conflict Studies, Nigeria-Japan Relations and Nigerian Foreign Policy.
