Richard McNeff
Richard McNeff was born in London where he lives today. His father was a repertory theatre actor who subsequently went into film then TV, only to be exterminated on Doctor Who during the first Dalek Invasion of the Earth (1964). His mother is a poet.
After graduating from Sussex University, Richard worked as a carpenter and wrote stories for International Times, the newspaper of the counterculture. He subsequently lived in Barcelona, Amsterdam, the Basque Country and Baku, settling on Ibiza where he stayed for several years. During this time, he worked with the sculptor Barry Flanagan.
Articles and reviews of his have appeared in Boulevard Magenta, the Fortean Times and the Guardian. His second book, With Barry Flanagan: Travels through Time and Spain, is a memoir of the late sculptor.
