Learned at age 8 from uncle Herbert Cope, a Chautauqua lecturer and amateur magician. Aka "Mr. Meriweather". Advertiser and lawyer. Part-time pro stage, close-up, and pseudo-Chinese mental magician as "Chan Wing" 1948-65. On TV as "Chan Wing" 1950, "Prof. Nemo" 1953-54, and "Mr. Meriweather" 1959-61. Full-time trade-show magician 1970-85. Pet effects: Cups-&-Balls, Linking Rings, and Miser's Dream.

Wrote The Secrets of Karl Germain (1962, 76pp) and Germain the Wizard and his Legerdemain (1966, 156pp), which effectively preserved the art of Germain in much the same way as Ottokar Fischer did for Hofzinser. Articles in Sphinx, Jinx, Linking Ring, Hugard's Magic Monthly, New Tops, New Phoenix, Magicol, MUM.
