The Little Book of Halloween Magic by Jeff Stone

Everything you need for Halloween: effects, ideas, further resources on the Halloween theme.

This tome-let is broken down into three categories:

  1. Tricks that are fully fleshed out.
  2. Theme / Prop ideas and resources to customize your existing repertoire.
  3. A quasi-bibliography of sorts listing Halloween effects, books, etc. from other creators.

Included throughout will be some effects that I've published elsewhere. I've culled a few ideas and effects from several of my other works and brought it all together into one little resource. You'll find that the "scary" type of effects pull from a variety of common "scare tactics."

  • Jump Scares
  • Suspense
  • Creepy Vibes

Halloween magic doesn't always have to be "scary." Sometimes just changing the props from "normal" props to "Halloween" props is all that is necessary. Sponge pumpkins instead of sponge balls. Sometimes just changing the color of your outfit or your props is all it takes to get into the "spirit" of it all. Other times, it may just be a simple matter of attributing the magic events to something spooky. A ghost made the dollar bill levitate, etc.

As with all of my work, in addition to spoon-feeding you some ideas, I also want to inspire you to connect a battery to your own personal Frankensteinian-creature brain-bolts and think for yourself. Create your own ideas. Use the information, effects, and resources in this book as a springboard to your own custom Halloween-self.

Whether you're looking for the perfect thing(s) to Halloween-ify your magic, or you just like the spooky stuff all year around, you'll definitely find plenty of material to get you there in The Little Book of Halloween Magic.
