
Andrew Pinard
Andrew Pinard is a full-time performer (since 1990) and has extensive experience working in the arts. From his early days with his independent theatre company, producing events such as The Great American Magic, Comedy & Vaudeville Show to performing thousands of shows throughout New England and beyond.
He founded and named Hatbox Theatre, as well as, facilitated the development, design, construction and running of the space. He served as a school board member for the Kearsarge Regional School District for twelve years, and was instrumental in the 2015 design and renovation of their high school auditorium. He served as the founder/director of the theater program for the New England Summer Arts Program, theater director/drama advisor for Pembroke Academy (five years) and technical director/lighting designer/instructor for Kearsarge Arts Theatre in Sutton, NH. He regularly consults for theatres and venues throughout the region and beyond in the areas of magic, lighting design, directing, systems development, and facility design. In 2017, Andrew was awarded the Vision and Tenacity Award at the NH Theatre Awards. Andrew performs magic, comedy and variety throughout the northeast and around the globe.
Andrew is an acknowledged expert on the three shell game (and maker of La Maggiore shells - threeshellgame.com) and troublewit (hand folded and available at troublewit.com). He worked alongside Jim Sisti on The Magic Menu for six of its eleven-year run and has designed and composed many, many books for publishers such as L & L Publishing, Hermetic Press, The Genii Corporation, Murphy's Magic, Harry Lorayne, and more. He is the editor of The Yankee Magic Collector and has produced that title for over twenty years. He is the current president of the New England Magic Collectors Association which publishes YMC and produces the Yankee Gathering history conference in even-numbered years.
Andrew has served as Executive Artistic Director of the historic Claremont Opera House (2021-2023), the Interim Executive Director of The AVA Gallery and Arts Center (2024-2025). He presents on 19th-century entertainments and Jonathan Harrington through the NH Humanities To Go program. He presented on Harrington internationally and published his research. He performs as Harrington for historic organizations and theatres. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the NH Citizens for the Arts board.
