(Sunderland, Durham, England: 7th December 1901 - 13th November 1990)

Inspired by seeing a magician at age 7. Learned since age 14 from library books. Sales correspondent (later direct mail manager). Semi-pro kid-show magician since debuting in London in 1924. Aka "Uncle Bruce" since 1924. Moved to Canada in 1947. 1975 Louis Bertol Trophy. IBM President 1980-81.

Wrote Magic in Miniature (1950s), Kid Show Showmanship (1961, 52pp; 3 reprints), Dove Pan-O-Rama (1972, 48pp), Table Hopping (1974, 54pp), Art of Blowing Bubbles (1980, 14pp), Necklace Trickery (1982, 64pp). "Forum" columnist in New Tops 1961-89. Articles in Magic Circular, Abra, Linking Ring, Ibidem, etc. NOTE: Surname often misspelled "Postgate", to his distinct annoyance.
