Daryl Hurst was active in magic from an early age and was well-established as a local Ann Arbor celebrity even before graduating from the University of Michigan in 1975. Following up on his collegiate Honors project exploring magic and the media, Hurst launched a decades-long career as an entertainer, teacher and retailer based in his hometown. Following later careers as a Certified Balloon Artist and in business administration, Hurst revisited his early magic days by authoring a memoir, a handbook for being a Hometown Magician, and in-depth guides to his classic routines and custom magic table.
