A three phased routine that allows you to share the experience of what it feels to be a mentalist.
PHASE I – UNCONSCIOUS COGNITION
5 Cards with ESP symbols are laid face down in a row towards the participant. The performer introduces another set of 5, lays them face up in a row towards himself. With a little thought the performer points to a card from his row and the participant to point a card from their row and it matches.
PHASE II – THOUGHT IDENTIFICATION
The performer draws one of the symbols on a card and the spectator correctly guesses which one has been drawn.
PHASE III – INDUCED HALLUCINATION
The participant is asked if he remembers the exact order of the 4 cards in their row, which they do not.
And then it is revealed - everything that they saw so far, was never there. The card they matched in the 1st phase does not exist, it's blank. The 4 other cards with 4 other shapes never existed - they're blank as well.
In fact the marker doesn't write, you never drew anything, it is blank as well. It was all a hallucination.
