Lee Jacobs
(Gallipolis, Ohio: 26th January 1942 - 28th April 2003)
Raised in Pomeroy, Ohio. Learned by age 5. Semi-pro stage comedy magician since age 12 and dealer (initially as Jacobs Illusion Shows) since age 15. College English teacher until 1967 when he left academia to become a full-time pro mail-order dealer (Lee Jacobs Productions) in Pomeroy. Married to Myriam Ruthchild 1977-88.
Edited Jake's Journal 1961-62 (3 issues) as house organ. Wrote Christmas Comedy for Pro Performers (1968, 27pp), The Real Methods and Secrets of the Challenge Escape from 75 Feet of Rope (1975, 44pp), The Promotion (1976, 44pp), etc. Edited Irving Desfor's Great Magicians in Great Moments (1983). Tricks in Genii, etc. TV bits.
