Philemon Vanderbeck

Philemon Vanderbeck was reincarnated on 30 August 1965 at 12:25 A.M. in Greenock, Scotland. Obsessed with mathematics since he was a child, Philemon believes that proper understanding of the underlying principles of the Universe allows him to penetrate the veil of the future and garner insight into the mysteries of space, time, energy, mind and spirit.

Philemon recently won second place in the Close-Up Magic Competition at Kramien’s Magic Jamboree. He was also awarded "Best Stage Act" at the 2005 Pacific Coast Association of Magicians Convention held on Norwegian Cruise Lines' "Norwegian Star." He received the "Best Mentalism" award for his act at the 2004 Pacific Coast Association of Magicians Convention held in Seattle. He was also awarded "People's Choice Magic Champion" at The Great Virgil and Julie Ring's "Mecca of Magic" in 2004 and the "Magician of the Year Award" for 2002 by the Pacific Northwest Ring of Fire.

I've been working on an act designed specifically for comedy clubs based on the premise of "a wicked pack of cards." I have a 'volunteer' select a card, and I then proceed to give the worst possible interpretation of it.

The deck I'm using is "Morgan's Tarot," an unusual 86-card deck that bears little relationship with a normal Tarot deck. I found its simple black and white drawings and irreverent card titles to be apropos...
